The Oklahoman has endorsed Republican candidate Mick Cornett for governor! It is Mick’s leadership and outstanding record as mayor that ultimately sets him apart, according to The Oklahoman.

“Oklahoma needs a governor who can rise above the fray, bring people together and most importantly lead. Mick Cornett is the Republican candidate best suited to do that.”

The Oklahoman would go on touting many of Mick’s accomplishment as mayor of Oklahoma City:

“He helped to implement MAPS for Kids during his early years in office, then in 2009 was instrumental in all aspects of MAPS 3.”

“Cornett also played a pivotal role in convincing NBA leadership that Oklahoma City could support a professional basketball franchise.” “That success in turn led to the arrival of the Oklahoma City Thunder.”

With 119 years covering the entire state The Oklahoman has seen and covered the ups-and-downs at the state Capitol. The Oklahoman knows the challenges ahead and the skill set needed to bring Oklahoma back to prosperity,

“…the (Governor) must be able to push and prod and cajole legislators to get things accomplished. Cornett’s skill set is well suited for such work. The governor also must make regular use of the bully pulpit the office provides, something that’s been missing for many years but which Cornett would do with aplomb.”

In closing, The Oklahoman says,

“The Oklahoman believes Cornett is the best choice to help accomplish these goals. He merits Republican voters’ support on Aug. 28.”

The runoff is in three weeks on Tuesday, August 28. This race will be very close, and we need your help to help spread Mick’s positive message and extraordinary record of accomplishments and leadership.
